The Last-3-Month Strategy
Month 1 (November) — Close the Gaps: list your weakest chapters and finish learning them now. JEE: solve previous year JEE Main questions chapter-wise. NEET: read NCERT Biology line by line. Keep up with school work — board practicals and pre-boards are coming.
Month 2 (December) — Mocks + Board Revision: take one full mock test a week, in the same time slot as the real exam; analyse each mock for 2–3 hours (concept errors, silly mistakes, time wasted); start your first board revision alongside, since the syllabus overlaps a lot.
Month 3 (January) — Peak Practice: JEE aspirants should take 2–3 mocks a week in early January and focus on accuracy over attempting everything; NEET aspirants should shift slightly towards board preparation in January–February, then return to full NEET mode after the boards. Revise formula sheets and short notes daily.
Balancing Boards and Entrance Exams
| Period | Board focus | Entrance focus |
|---|---|---|
| November | 40% | 60% |
| December | 50% | 50% |
| January | 50% (JEE: 40%) | 50% (JEE: 60% before Session 1) |
| February (board exams) | 80–90% | 10–20% (light revision only) |
| March–April (after boards) | — | 100% (JEE Session 2 / NEET) |
Remember: the board syllabus and the entrance syllabus overlap heavily in Class 12 Physics and Chemistry, so board revision also helps entrance preparation.
Mock Test Analysis Checklist
- Which questions did I get wrong because I didn't know the concept?
- Which were silly mistakes (calculation, misreading)?
- Which questions took more than 3–4 minutes?
- Did I attempt questions I should have skipped (negative marking)?
- Which three topics will I fix before the next mock?
Health and Mindset
- Sleep 7 hours. Memory consolidates during sleep.
- Take a 20-minute walk or exercise daily.
- Don't compare mock scores on social media or coaching groups.
- Talk to a parent, mentor or tutor if stress feels overwhelming.
