Our Child Safety & Tutor Verification Policy

At Param Tuition Bureau, a child's safety comes first. This page explains our tutor verification policy: how we check tutors before sharing their profiles with parents, the code of conduct every tutor must follow, what parents can do to stay safe, and how to report a concern.

We also care about the safety of our tutors, many of whom are women visiting homes. This policy protects both families and tutors.

1. How We Verify Tutors

Before a tutor is shared with a family, we aim to complete these checks:

StepWhat we check
Identity checkA valid government photo ID (details are verified, not published)
Address checkCurrent address proof
Qualification checkEducational certificates relevant to the subjects they teach
Phone screeningA conversation to understand subject knowledge, experience and communication
Reference or past-work checkWhere available, feedback from previous students or institutions
Profile reviewSubjects, classes, boards and areas, confirmed before the tutor receives requirements

Privacy: tutors' ID documents are used only for verification and are never shared publicly.

2. Code of Conduct for Tutors

Every tutor who works with us agrees to:

  • Teach in a common area of the home (living or dining room), not a closed room.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with students at all times.
  • Never use physical punishment or humiliating language.
  • Keep communication with students appropriate and, for minors, involve parents in all communication.
  • Never share students' photos or personal details online.
  • Not record online classes without the parent's permission.
  • Be punctual and inform the parent in advance about any leave.
  • Report any concern about a child's safety or wellbeing to us.

3. Safety Guidance for Parents

We recommend that parents:

  • Meet the tutor during the demo class and ask questions.
  • Make sure an adult is at home during tuition, especially for young children.
  • Keep the study area open and visible.
  • Talk to your child regularly about how classes are going.
  • Agree on communication rules: tutors should message parents, not the child, for younger students.
  • Report anything that feels wrong to us immediately.

Teach children body safety: children should know that no adult should ask them to keep secrets, touch them inappropriately or make them uncomfortable, and that they can always tell a parent.

4. Safety for Tutors

We also want tutors to feel safe: we share the parent's name and contact details with the tutor before the first visit; tutors can decline or leave a tuition if they feel unsafe; tutors can report concerns about a family to us.

Read our safety tips for female home tutors.

5. How to Report a Concern

If you are a parent or tutor and something feels wrong:

  1. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 112 (India's national emergency number).
  2. Contact Param Tuition Bureau through our official phone or WhatsApp number on the contact page.
  3. Share the details: names, date, time and what happened.

What we do: we take every report seriously. Depending on what is reported, we may pause the tutor's profile, speak to both sides, replace the tutor, and, where a crime may have been committed, support the family in going to the police.

6. Our Commitment

  • We verify tutors before sharing their profiles with families.
  • We remove tutors who break the code of conduct.
  • We review this policy regularly and update it as we improve.
